Warriors are made on the battlefield and on pediatric cancer wards. Our battle wounded veterans and their families share a special bond with families whose children are battling the enemy of cancer. All need a place to come and just be. A sanctuary. A place to which they can look forward and return again and again.
That place is We Warriors. Set on the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay near St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada, We Warriors will provide respite time for these families from both sides of the border at no charge.
The project began with the renovation of an 1841 farmhouse and barn and now has expanded to include restoration of two shorefront cabins. “And we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of EcoStar,” says We Warriors founder John Budris. “The farmhouse roof was in need of immediate replacement, and Eco Star was right in our corner.”

For a couple of generations, the farmhouse had a characteristic look with red asphalt shingles, and Majestic Slate in Stone Red was the perfect match – not only for the continuity of appearance but more importantly – function. The old farm had a nickname of “Windridge” for good reason. Gale force winds buffet the house around the calendar, and the EcoStar roof has performed to perfection.
