We asked Ron Cole, an EcoStar Field Service Representative, to tell us a little about his background and how he got involved in this industry. And this is what he had to say. “I started in the roofing industry when I was 15 years old. I was offered a roofing job that paid 75 cents/hour more than I was making with an opportunity for more hours. That was 33 years ago. For the next eight years I went from getting paid hourly to getting paid by the square, to becoming a subcontractor, and then starting my own business, The Roof Connection, when I was 23 years old. About three years ago, Bill Shimburski called me with an opportunity to join EcoStar as a Field Service Rep, and I jumped at the opportunity. I was born in North Jersey and raised down the shore. I have always worked the entire state, and also a bit in New York and Pennsylvania. On Sept. 16, 2011, I married my beautiful wife, Gyl, and became stepfather to her three daughters: Makenzie, 22, Olivia, 19, and Montgomery, 9. The two oldest have moved on to start families of their own and have blessed us with three grandchildren. For the last five years, I have been participating in missions trips with Starve Poverty International founded by a friend of mine, Ron Fraser. Our work is done primarily in the Island of Exuma, in the Bahamas, but also in our own community. Our goal is simply to make a difference in the lives of those in need by sharing the love of Christ (see www.starvepoverty.org for more information). Today my wife and I ride horses with our youngest, Montgomery. We have been working on building a family horse farm in South Carolina for the last four years, as we all have a great love for animals.”
Ron, your background is great for what you do and your life sounds interesting 🙂
