EcoStar synthetic roofing products are designed to streamline and simplify the installation process, but to achieve gold star certification, contractors must be trained and approved and use approved materials. Here is a list of certified products required for Gold-Star-certified installations.
Our synthetic tile is not recommended for roofs with a slope less than 3/12 (14”). Roofs with a slope less than or greater than 6/12 (27”) have their own exposure requirements relative to the type of tile used.
The weight per bundle of our synthetic tile varies by tile type and whether they are class A or class C fire-resistant. For instance, our synthetic concrete and clay tile includes 10 linear feet and weighs between 19 and 24 lbs per bundle. No, for replacing an existing roof, a complete teardown is required. Thankfully, our synthetic tile is designed to make installation as simple as possible. EcoStar fasteners and underlayment are recommended to ensure the installation is done correctly and the tiles are adequately protected from the elements.
Prolonged exposure to UV light can cause even synthetic roof tiles to degrade and fade over time, but EcoStar tile is engineered to resist it. Each tile is made with UV inhibitors and color pigments blended throughout the material, ensuring long-lasting color and reduced surface fading even in intense sunlight.
