Immediate opening on 1st shift at a local Injection Molding facility

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production equipment including performing preventive and predictive maintenance as required.
  • Troubleshoot injection molding machines and other manufacturing equipment. Includes identifying cost-effective.
    methods of making repairs and maintaining equipment.
  • Review and interpret work orders, tie-ins, technical manuals, and machine operational instructions.
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, hydraulic schematics, and specifications when available.
  • Communicate with production employees to determine details of repairs required on equipment.
  • Develop maintenance procedures when documentation is not available.
  • Maintain other hydraulic, electrical, structural components, and/or pneumatic systems; Includes preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Identify potential mechanical, or safety-related operational issues and makes suggestions for resolution.
  • Disassemble hydraulic pumps, motors, controls, and sub-assemblies as necessary. Reassemble pumps, motors, valves, controls, and sub-assemblies using required components in a cost-effective manner to conform to installation specifications of original manufacturer. Mount, couple or connect as required to test conformance to
    original manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Maintain and repair plant infrastructure as required. Including troubleshooting and repairing conveyors, worktables, fixtures, dryers, grinders, machine guards, assembly equipment and gauges. Inspects all parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Prepare written documentation of work to be performed including but not limited to, bill of materials, stock in report, purchase requisition and computer documentation sheet.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and sequence work including ordering parts and staging necessary tools and equipment.
  • Keep written or computer-based records; basic keyboarding skills; effective multi-tasking on work assignments with critical priorities.
  • Utilize safe working practices in a thermoplastic injection molding environment, especially energy lock-out procedures.
  • Welding Skills are a plus.

Ability to

  • Work safely and effectively on multiple tasks.
  • Follow all OSHA PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection and lifting guidelines.
  • Read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and machinery diagrams and specifications in troubleshooting and/or making repairs.
  • Work independently with sound judgment; use basic math, grammar, and spelling to communicate maintenance issues/repair status/costs
  • Effectively communicate with others in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
  • May be required to work at heights greater than 4 feet, climb ladders, understand confined space protocols, and utilize fall protection equipment.
  • Able to work around electromagnetic fields generated by production equipment.
  • Lift loads of greater than 10 pounds and safely use fork truck or cranes as necessary.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience with applicable schooling preferred.

Education

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Prefer two-year degree, diploma, or certificate from an accredited vocational or technical institute.

Experience

  • Mold Maker or machinist: 3 years minimum (Preferred)

Required to

  • Program, set-up and operate precision CNC and manual tool room equipment.
  • Work with Tool Room Manager to take projects from concept to production.
  • Perform advanced shop math and advanced blueprint reading.
  • Apply concepts of trigonometry.
  • Follow robust, repeatable, industry-standard mold making processes
  • Perform dimensional inspection activities during mold build/repair process.
  • Regularly lift and/or move steel plates manually and with a crane or fork truck.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Provide personal tools including measuring instruments and other items standard to the mold building process.
  • Be a self-starter.
